This tutorial shows how to back-up your wallet inside Klever Extension. It covers two points:
How to back-up the seed of your wallet?
Each multi-crypto wallet on Klever Extension has a 24-word seed, which can be used to restore your wallet on any device. So, in case of a problem or to migrate your wallet into a new device, you require the 24-word seed. The 24-word seed enables you to restore all your related accounts on all blockchains. The following steps show how to back-up the 24-word seed of your wallet.
Step 1: From the main page, click on the Hamburger icon from the upper-right corner.
Step 2: Under Settings, click on Privacy and Security.
Step 3: Click on Reveal Seed Phrase.
Step 4: After carefully reading the Security Alert, input your password and click on Proceed button.
Step 5: Verify that no one is watching, and click on Show Seed Phrase to reveal the 24 words.Carefully, write down the 24-word seed in a piece of paper, then click on Done button.
Warning
NEVER SHARE 24-word seed with anyone, even with Klever Support agent. Also, do not input your 24-word seed in any website or fake extension. If you share the 24-word seed with any person, then he/she can steal your funds.
Notice
Store your 24-word seed in a safe place. if you lose your 24-word seed, then you cannot recover it or retrieve your funds.
How to back-up the private key of an account?
All the accounts in your wallet on Klever Extension are linked to the same 24-word seed. However, each account has a unique private key. Although the 24-word seed enables you to recover all your accounts, it is a good practice to also back-up the private keys of all accounts, one by one. The following steps show how to back-up the private key of a certain account.
Step 1: From the main page, click on the Hamburger icon from the upper-right corner.
Step 2: Under Settings, click on Privacy and Security.
Step 3: Click on Reveal Private Keys.
Step 4: After carefully reading the Warning, confirm that you understand the threat of revealing your wallet seed or private keys to any person, Input your password, then click on Proceed button.
Step 5: Select target account which you want to back-up its private key.
Step 7: Store the private key of your account somewhere safe, and you are done!
Note
The private key of a certain account enables you to recover only that account. Each account has a unique private key, but all accounts share the same 24-word seed.
