Understanding the Metaverse and the digital world we are heading to.
When I woke up in the early morning to wintery weather of about -5 degrees, I thought to myself, what if I could manipulate my environment to feel the way I want it to and literally live in it? I realized that the same experience could be achieved in a unique virtual world, one into which the world is gradually moving.
Metaverse has been explained in many different ways, but I would like to put it in a new perspective to perhaps engage the Klever community about the new paradigm we are looking forward to in the near future.
What is the Metaverse?
The word metaverse was credited to Author Neil Stephenson with his 1992 science fiction novel "Snow Crash”, where he tried to envision lifelike avatars who met in realistic 3D buildings and other virtual reality environments. It can also be described as a combination of multiple elements of technology, including virtual reality VR, augmented reality AR, and video where users "live" within a digital universe. In response to this, several projects have been developed to project 3D environments in the real world. This has stimulated the interest of software developers and computer scientists to explore the possibilities of living in a virtual world.
In an online virtual world incorporating augmented reality, virtual reality, 3D holographic avatars, video, and other means of communication and interaction, milestones have been made on the road to actualizing a real metaverse.
It will create a hyper-real alternative world where individuals can coexist like it is done in most virtual reality gaming platforms such as Minecraft, Roblox, and Fortnight, where individuals are able to interact with each other in real-time while they are in a virtual reality world performing tasks and having adventures.
With so many people realizing that you can work, travel, exercise, and do all sorts of other things in a virtual world, the world is changing in many ways. Invariably, the metaverse is a virtual universe in which humans exist as virtual representations and perform all tasks virtually.
Many people might find this strange, but as we speak, various forms of economies are being created in the digital universe where people can own properties and work from anywhere by joining metaverse platforms.
One of the early metaverse games I played allowed me to buy properties in the United States and tenants would pay rent. The best part about it is that I could withdraw the rent money from the game in real life - that's kind of weird, isn't it?
The metaverse also allows you to upload and trade your NFTs as these fungible items are unique to you the user and due to their rarity, can also generate some form of income for the creators of those properties.
A metaverse is not just a marketplace; it could eventually evolve into a world of its own, perhaps running parallel to the current world. Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, has given the world a few ideas about the transformation that would take place when the company switches over to its new platform, the Meta.
Klever, too, is taking part in the digital revolution that is sweeping the world. We have designed and structured the Klever NFT marketplace, which will also transform into the metaverse in the near future.
Are you ready?
The future is indeed Klever.
